With its glass atrium, high ceilings and white walls, Baltic has a light, open, spacious feel. The warm, neutral colours and pale wooden beams give the place a natural, organic feel. At this Waterloo restaurant Jan Woroniecki of Wodka and Chez Kristof fame offers a selection of hearty Eastern European dishes. Give your gullet an an Eastern bloc party with dishes like lamb goulash, haunch of venison with honey roasted pears and sour cherries and steamed mussels with bacon and beer. The bar boasts over 35 different flavours of Polish and Russian vodka as well as wine and bar food. The other great draw is the jazz – on Sunday nights Baltic plays host to established and up coming artists.

Excellent food but service was a little slow. It was very busy due to Xmas so understandable.

We had another very nice meal at the Baltic. Efficient and friendly service.

Have been here several times and it's consistently good. Good food, nice atmosphere and staff - and all a little bit different in a good way. A little pricey but worth it. A real haven behind the curtain. I'll be back there again, no doubt!

Wonderful food served in very pleasant surroundings. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. For an aperitif, there is a great range of cocktails and flavoured vodkas. The roast halibut with crayfish sauce was delicious. We will definitely be returning soon.

My pet hate at Baltic - waiter/esses who don't write the orders but think they can remember them, was justified by a mix-up in the order. As a result of correcting the main dish of another guest, my lamb dish came out overdone. In spite of this, it is a nice restaurant to visit, food quality is good but wines on the pricey side for the stye of restaurant it is.

Have been going to Baltic for a few years now and for the first time we thought standards were slipping when we visited this week. The food was still delicious but the staff seemed seriously overwhelmed and as a result service was really poor. We had trouble getting attention for coats, wine, water, menus etc. Our starters did not arrive for over an hour after ordering - we were famished. The toilets remain the most bizarre in London - are they so bad the lights need to be so low?

Baltic was welcoming and efficient but the lunchtime menu was relatively poor value, in both quantity and choice. On the other hand, service was impeccable, the (non-menu) desserts were excellent .......but perhaps the best of the whole meal was at the end - the complimentary final vodka, cold, red and invigorating.

Baltic was a fab night out. Aside from a few minor mix ups with our canape order, which I would like to add the manager kindly gave to us for free to apologise, overall it was a great experience. Good food, great friendly staff. A real gem.

My partner and I dined at the Baltic for our anniversary. I had been for lunch before, and really enjoyed it. Dinner did not disappoint. The food was delicious as always, nice wine, and a great atmosphere. The staff were helpful and friendly, but not overbearing. Well worth the money in my opinion.

I was pleasantly surprised when I entered Baltic, a sexy candlelit restaurant, and the £14.50 two course menu delivered some well-executed items - goats cheese and walnut salad, pork rilletes with toast, roast cod with pearl barley, tomatoes and mushrooms and beef and sausage goulash. A good find for a pretty barren stretch at The Cut.
